ISF was founded in 1995 by the city of Frankfurt, the State of Hesse and several multi-national companies. It is a full-day international school taking students from age 3 in kindergarten (Pre-school) up to Grade 12. Located in Frankfurt-Sindlingen – within easy reach of the S1 and S2 train lines – the multi-purpose campus features a theatre, 25m indoor swimming pool, an artificial soccer field, a full running track and tennis courts.
ISF is part of the world-leading SABIS® Network, with a track record of 130 years of academic excellence and a global network of schools around the world educating 70,000 students. With the power of the SABIS® Educational system, our goal is that each student fulfils his or her potential
We offer various internationally recognized qualifications including the International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placements (AP) and High School Diploma in Grade 12 and International General Certificate of Education (IGCSE) in Grade 10. A member of the SABIS® Network, the ISF curriculum focuses on math, English and German. While the main language of instruction is English, German classes are taught daily to all children (including those in Kindergarten) from beginner to native speaker level. Students choose French or Spanish as a third language of instruction beginning in Grade 6. With our recognized SABIS® curriculum, continuous assessment and academic support, we are able to set high standards, achieving consistently good academic results, as well as preparing students to succeed in life after school.
Although academics are our focus, we also offer a comprehensive after-school activity program through our Sportverein (Sports Club) and our SABIS Student Life Organization® (SLO®). The SLO® enables students to learn the importance of being active contributors to their school and community, providing an important social component to complement ISF’s high academic standards. Before and after school, adult supervision of students is available as part of ISF’s Extended Daycare Program up to Grade 6.
At ISF we are truly international and celebrate with our students and parents memorable cultural events such as Halloween, the visits of Sinterklaas from the Netherlands and the Snow Girl from Russia; the Diwali festival of light from India and the US and Korean Thanksgivings. Annual highlights at ISF are the Sommerfest with the ISF Talent Show; International Day reflecting the diversity of our nations; the United Korean Concert organized by our Korean students to raise money for charity; the literary Inkwell magazine featuring short stories and artwork, produced and edited by our students; the school musical performed by students from the Secondary School; our Science Fair for the Middle School students and wonderful drama productions and salon concerts throughout the year.
There are always opportunities for parents who would like to be more involved or participate in activities at the school such as Nordic walking, language courses and coaching sports teams. As well as supporting our Parent Network organization, parents can help with our musical and drama productions or help students with our Accelerated Reading Program in the library.
ISF is an accredited member of Accreditation International, Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the National Council for Private School Accreditation. Additionally, ISF is a regular member of the European Council of International Schools (ECIS) and Council of International Schools (CIS). In addition it is a Cambridge Examination Centre, an International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) World School and an Advanced Placement authorized test center. ISF offers children an education that will prepare them for success in a changing world.
